After checking some more sources, it seems that if I used the AOC-SAT2-MV8 with 
this motherboard, I would need to run it on the standard PCI slot. Here is the 
full listing of the motherboard's expansion slots:

2 x PCI Express x16 slot at x16, x8 speed 
2 x PCI Express x1 
3 x PCI 2.2   <<----------- this one
