Job Title: QA Tester

Location: Raleigh, NC – Local Consultants Only

Duration: 6 + Months

 

 

Role Description:

Develop test scripts, test conditions, and expected results for one or more test plans, including assembly, system, performance and user acceptance tests.

Develop, update, and maintain testing standards and procedures.

Execute test scripts.

Record problems and issues in accordance with the project's problem and issue management plans.

Work with the application team to resolve any issues that arise out of the testing process.

Participate in the release control process (when the application is transferred from the build team to the test team) to ensure that solutions meet business requirements.

Validate product fixes.

Inform the test lead of any issues that may affect the schedule, budget, or quality of the product or the testing process.

 

Skills Required:

Good communication skills

Detail oriented: able to document and follow detailed instructions within test scripts as well as defects tracking documents (i.e., steps to recreate the problem)

Understanding of testing concepts and how testing fits in with the overall project life cycle

Conducting peer reviews (and completing peer review feedback form) of scenarios, scripts and conditions drafted by other test team members

Updating traceability of requirements in Quality Center.

All requirements need to be mapped to a supporting design document and test script.

HP Quality Center

Used for storing requirements and for ensuring requirements traceability from for storing requirements, defect tracking, and tracking test results.
