RIA Developer

Location: Redlands, CA

Duration: 6 months+ (this can be a very long contract)

Rate: Open (should be in the $50/hour corp range)

Number of openings 2

 

Client will hire based on Video Conference!

 

The Rich Internet Application (RIA) developer will report to the Information Services department manager and will be primarily responsible for developing highly interactive client-side applications.  This role will work heavily with ActionScript, _javascript_, HTML, CSS, and other supporting technologies. The RIA developer will need to be able to work well with clients and other developers, and will need to be able to transform business requirements into robust, interactive, yet intuitive user experiences.

 

This position requires a bachelor’s degree or greater in computer science, or a related field; and a minimum of 2 years experience in web development.  This person will be required to work on-site at Esri Redlands.

 

Developer Duties:

 

·       Develop scalable, maintainable, and robust applications using ActionScript and/or _javascript_.

·       Design and develop web pages and layouts from scratch, or from Photoshop, Illustrator, or Fireworks compositions.

·       Work with clients to gather and understand business needs and requirements, document those requirements, and create functional prototypes to address them.

·       Create test plans and develop test suites for integration and unit testing.

·       Manage versioning and deployment of application source code, including source control management, branching, tagging, etc.

 

Technical requirements:

 

·       Proficient in developing large-scale applications with ActionScript and _javascript_ is required

·       Ability to create fluid layouts with HTML and CSS is required

·       Experience with ColdFusion, Java, PHP or other server-side technology is preferable

·       Knowledge of Photoshop, Fireworks, or similar graphics package is required

·       Experience with SQL Server or similar is a plus

·       A strong knowledge of object-oriented principals and how they apply to client-side technologies is required
