If you caught him cheating you simply excused yourself from the room,
and a few seconds later he would hear a sound,

gently across the floor towards him without a clip in place...
By this time I'd be safely hunkered down in the chow line and simply
claim it was a random mortar round...
Worked every time...
Ran short of opponents though,
towards the end...
