I'm not sure if you know about this, but almost all MIME send problems have been fixed in TCPware 5.8 (just released last month). One of the features is based upon some changes they made to the software but forgot to document in their manuals. Let me know if you need more information. On a related note, PSC has opened up a blog where people can connect with the developers. I would like to send misc files (example: daily reports, RMS file extracts, etc) as attachments from my VAX (VMS 6.2) to either internal or external recipients. I am currently testing with TCPWare SMTP (version 5.7) and have tried sending myself a flat file using the following DCL command procedure: $ set noon $ set noverify $ mail/foreign $email:coleman.csv /subj="coleman.csv" dmasini@xxxxxxxxx<mailto:dmasini@xxxxxxxxx> $ exit where: $email: is the logical for the directory coleman.csv is the flat file name The problem is when I receive the e-mail the NAME of the attached file changes based on the following: 1) If I DO NOT include a "subj=" then the file name of the attachment is ATT9999.DAT (where 9999 is some arbitrary sequence number)... 2) If I DO include a "subj=" (as in /subj="coleman.csv" then the file name of the attachment is COLEMAN.CSV.DAT... 3) If I DO include a "subj=" (as in /subj="coleman" then the file name of the attachment is COLEMAN.DAT... Of course I COULD right-mouse click on the attachment and do a "Save as.." (either renaming it or removing .DAT extension) but my general users would be confused by this. I simply need to make sure it ends up with the correct file name as sent (coleman.csv) Any suggestions would be appreciated. Dave Masini Mgr - IT The H.
