The VelocityServlet is deprecated. If you can, you should move to the
VelocityViewServlet.
However, the VelocityServlet does already make the HttpServletRequest
available in the context as $req, so you can use that if you need.

I don't think that the request response and servlet context are put in
the velocity context though.
