I have just moved my PC from one room to another at home. Now, when I
insert a CD into the optical drive, my PC reboots without warning and
without displaying any error messages. I have tried using different
CDs, of types CD-R and CD-RW.
Apart from physically relocating my PC (very carefully) I have not
installed any new software or made any configuration changes.
I have performed a full security scan (anti-virus, spyware, port-
probe, etc.) – all clear. I have also performed a System Restore to a
stable date.
The same thing keeps happening.
Any suggestions please?

Very likely a hardware problem; loose wire, electrical contact
disturbed, drive mechanism otherwise faulty.
Here's the process I'd go through;
1. Look in the system error log.
2. Look at the drive under Device Manager; reinstall drivers.
3. Inspect it with a system analyser program, such as SiSoft or PC
Wizard.
4. Open case and check all wiring; power cable, IDE cable.
5. Replace drive.
Retrying a CD after each stage.
