When I plug a memory stick into my old HP N5412 laptop running XP, an annoying message comes up saying a fast USB is plugged into a slow USB port, although everything works fine for my purposes. It says it needs a high-speed USB controller. I assume this is a hardware device, not upgradable by software (or is it?), so is there any way of disabling Microsoft's patronising pop-up? Dave W |
