All,
Can anyone recommend a hard dsik testing utility that I can run from a
boot CD?
The hard drive in question is making more noise than I think it should,
windows XP took over an hour to install on a 2.6GHz machine with 2Gb of
RAM (memtested to 20 passes, no errors).
When I hooked the suspect drive up to my machine via a SATA>USB2 adapter
it kept stuttering every second. When I tried to copy a 1Gb file to it I
started getting warnings about "delayed write fail, the data has been
lost" in the system tray. Never seen that before but it doesn't sound
very promising!
