I just upgraded my machine to 8GB from 4GB becuase DDR2 is so cheap at the moment and I have a TV Tuner, it was working pretty well with 4GB apart from the occasional glitch where I would get a popping/crackling sound repeating and I had to close the WinTV app and perhaps reload it a few times, this didn't happen very often with 4GB and I thougth it was just a dodgy card. So I got 8GB and now I get the popping/crackling repeating sound more often, and once it has started the only way to get rid of it is to reboot the system, so now I am finding I can only really use the card after a reboot, apparently its to do with the way a 32bit subsystem is accessed under 64bit vista and there is nothng Hauppage can do to fix it at the moment, so bear this in mind if going to 8GB with a TV tuner... its just not conveniant to have to reboot the system everytime I want to watch TV. |
