The 480W PSU has 25a on the 12v line... the other 500W PSU I have has 18a on the 12v line it can't be the PSU surely? Can't figure out what it is CPU in right, I`ve reset CMOS although I`ve never seen the board POST yet... can'tthink of anything else it might be? I`m sure its something simple it can only be 1 of 3 or 4 things but I got nothing to test with.Did you remember the plug in the 4-pin 12v CPU ("P4") power lead ( the one with 2 yellow, 2 black cables)?
Yep I plugged in the 4 pin connector :( the main connector is a 24pin with a slide off for 20pin... so its like a 20pin with a slide on for 24pin.. I cannot understand why it don't post, NO beeps from speaker.. just the fans spinning... its probably something dead simple but I cannot think what... unless its some sort of PSU issue whereby it cannot power the GFX but I doubt it... we'll see tommorow when I go round to my brother to test with his 7600GT.... I`m just taking the case, cpu in socket, gfx and 1 stick of ram not interested in powering the hard drive yet all I want is a POST. Usually in this situation it would be the CPU but I slotted it in carefully... it only goes in one way then clamped down the metal bracket and mounted the heatsink clicking the pins into place. I even tried taking the motherboard out of the case and trying it outside but same problem.!!! Ahhh the stress!!!
