Hi Terry,
Partitioning schemes, including the need for a swap partition, vary from
user to user - we all have opinions and most are right for our
particular use needs.
Personally, with an 80GB drive, I'd make a swap following the old
formula where your swap partition is equal to twice the RAM on the
system. Other than that, I'd make a / partition of about 20 GB, then
the rest in /home.
