It happened with firefox then the synaptic package manager. Before I used firefox the synaptic package manager was fine. Open office was still fine when I decided to reinstall to get rid of the problem. As it did the same with the dvd of Ubuntu 6.10 I installed the 7.10. Now everything is working fine but I wanted to understand why that would do that since I was running Ubuntu 6.10 before without this problem.
Thank
Meg

That would affect all applications though Bob  - Meg only seemed to
get this waving issue within Firefox, according to her description.

She said it happened to a bunch of different applications.
