Printing in Ubuntu 7.04

Hi,
Ubuntu 7.04
Printer Samsung ML-1210 -- LPT1
This printer has worked successfully earlier onto ALT Linux 2.4.21.

In Ubuntu I have made the new printer by:
  Choose System → Administration → Printing
  Printer → Add Printer

Model: ML-1210
Driver: gdi
Set the printer as default.

Next:
Print Test Page or same any page from a text editor.
The Page go to the queue and then disappear.
The printer prints nothing!
Into /var/log/messages will be added the following:
  June 18 22:30:50 levc kernel: [ 2959.877916] lp0: ECP mode

What is wrong?
How to set up the printing?
