I just retired a computer that is 18 years old. About 8 years ago I
loaded slackware on this computer at work and have used it as a terminal
connection. Last week I took a 7 year old computer that had been used
for windows 98 added some memory cards I had sitting around and now we
have a fully functioning computer to use to display web pages and for
word processing using open office. We also use it as a terminal to run
text based programs. One of the great advantages of Linux is it allows
you to take what would be oboslete equipment and make it useful again.
