OK, it's a well crafted patch then - some patches I've seen hack the
mksquashfs.c source quite a bit, and these probably wouldn't have applied
cleanly to a later version. I'm currently using a 57Kbit GPRS modem to
connect, and so didn't bother downloading the patch.
It means there's still a mystery as to why you've observed rather
disappointing compression results.
