Rhythmbox has the same behaviour: by default it will look for shares,
and let the user access them, but it doesn't share the user's library
unless asked. Which I think is a fairly sensible default for any
mDNS-capable application, although exactly how much of a "this could let
people see some potentially private information" warning apps should
give users is something I'm not sure of.
If one doesn't exist yet, an admin tool which disallows all/some users
from publishing records with certain service types (e.g. _daap._tcp)
sounds like a good idea.
