Just use the tg3 driver that comes with the distribution.. You won't
have to re-compile when you upgrade your kernel.

Subject: broadcom driver gigabit lan
Hi guys,
which module do I need to get a broadcom corporation gigabit lan
controller working? Where do I find the bcm5700 rpm package which works
on all updated kernels? I don't want to use any proprietary drivers as I
don't want to get stuck to a certain kernel
thx in advance
