However, a horse can lift 550 lbs a height of 1 foot in 1 second.
A mass of 1 tonne will fall under gravity at a rate of 9.8 metres
per second^2, so to levitate, the horses have to lift 1 tonne at a
rate of 9.8 metres per second^2.
