First of all, Michael Rieger is an undereducated buffoon. Alligator
mississipiensis isn't generally a carrion eater, save for the oldest and
largest of the species. They like to dispatch their food up close and
personal until they get too big to do so with ease. They're more likely
there to feast on the birds and other death eaters the bodies attract,
so in a way, they're helping preserve those remains.
Second of all... who cares? Nature is taking care of her own house
cleaning. If the primates can't get to it, the avians, insects, and
reptiles will.
*shrug*
It's a for the families who feel the need to look at a corpse for
"closure", but this sort of thing happens. It's certainly not news
worthy.
An obvious attempt to gain the reader's sentiments. Nothing more. :(
