Hello Group,

I don't understand the wording/reasoning of the following question.

Q: Saplings are to be plantwed 30 feet apart along one side of a
straight lane 455 feet long. If the first sapling is to be planted at
one end of the lane, how many saplings are needed?

a. 18 b. 16 c. 15(1/6) d. 15 e. 14

First, will be at 0 ft. or at the beginning, and since there are 455
ft, I figured, I will divide 455 by 30.

which gives me 15(5/30). which is 15(1/6) Obviously you can't have 1/6
sapling, and since you have to be spaced 30 ft apart, you need 15
saplings.

but no... it says I need 16 saplings.. what's the reasoning for this?

Thanks again
