You never use google?

Because they are references to messages posted in this news group.

If you press "H" within Pine, you will see the Message-Id in the full
header. Why don't you try it with this message for example?

Why would a book entitled "General Topology" be in french? Why would I have
told you to enter the english search terms "quotient spaces" and "Polish
spaces"?

Do you mean ellicited?

Are you using linux or unix? Isn't jre2 a standard package in linux?

Google books is an excellent aid. The identifier is used mainly as an
identifier to impose viewing limits for certain books. No need to be
paranoid.

You can sometimes get a more complete view of a book on amazon, provided
you've made a recent purchase. gdz is also useful for old german
mathematics articles and books (e.g. Richard Brauer's thesis).

Did you seriously expect somebody french to understand the franglais you
wrote above?

Although Pine is an excellent mail reader (spooled mail will survive if the
system suddenly crashes), it is very limited as a news reader.
