Unpredictable in the sense that one (at least for me) cannot
predict which of the dimension constraints/autoamtic calculations
will take precedence when one makes a small change.
My tables don't have dimension constraints or automatic calculations.
I just get the dimensions I enter in "cell height and width" etc. or
that I set using the mouse.
You don't even let Word adjust row height?
Perhaps the problem is you start from the Table Gallery, and I start
from Insert Table?
No, I use Insert Table as well. As I said before, I use
tables to do complicated layout and have to merge and split
cells, add and delete rows/columns all the time as I try to
fit as many things as possible in a limited amount of space.
