Using [R] for syllabic r, I have [EksploR] "explorer" (compare
[Eksplor] "explore"), [mIR] "mirror" (compare [mIr] "mere"), but
in slow, careful speech, also possible are [EksplorR], [mIrR].
Evidently, unstressed [rR] reduces to [R].
