Most landfills just vent their gas because it's not worth the cost to
capture, compress, contain and use it or sell it.  Changing it into
hydrogen and CO2 at even greater expense would be insane if not for
whatever government money is available.  Eventually the government
money 
will wise up and there will be no market for anything SHEC
