Does anyone know how the CIA factbook comes up with 19% arable land? Whats the criterion? Does it have to be relatively level? Have some topsoil? Even elimination of HALF of the imported foreign oil with biodiesel is a win, right? Also, it looks like sunflowers and rapeseed have more oil yield per acre than soybeans. Also... have we heard from any bioengineering types that think an oilier sunflower could be bred? Double the oil on half the land and Bob's Your Uncle. |
