Maybe they could float a big dish and spin it with long lines attached to a tug boat ring. Then you could tow it to any body of water facing an interesting patch of sky. You could also adjust the focal length in case you needed to zap something with 60 mega watts. A 300 m diameter dish could be built at a shipyard for less cost than an 8 m binocular. What about the zillions of shiny floats part? Would that work? Maybe have hexagons stick together at the edges with magnets. Bret Cahill |
