General News
 ----------
Man!, did I get calls and emails about the December NYC Events.
The title was 'NYC Events for November 2006'! I forgot to update the
title from November to December!! This caused some mega mixup. You
tossed out what at first looked like an old issue, then you could not
find the current one! I, too, discarded a bunch of 'November'
leftovers. I corrected the archive copy of NYC Events.
One long-running event now has a name 'Top of the lawn' or 'Team
TOTL'. This is the informal group of astronomers who meets on clear
nights on the north walk of Great Lawn in Central Park.
Contacts for the Cafe' Science are updated and a new email address
is included.
The website for Westchester Amateur Astronomers is out of action
as at late December. This kicked its Yonkers general meeting and Ward
Pound Ridge starviewing into the 'XX Jan' section.
I again thank you for sending me notices of interesting events. Do
understand that NYC Events is primarily a consolidated roster of
astronomy and space activities, not a general one of all kinds of
events. That's why I include only a selection of 'cultural'
activities, those with an extra 'Wow' factor in them.
January 2007 finds a large number of events in the 'XX Jan' box!
These events reasonably have sessions in January but word about them
is ambiguous or missing. If your expected event is in that 'XX Jan'
section, please ask at its contacts about January sessions.

Event news
 --------
Adorama Camera had on December 3rd a Celestron Day. Celestron
demoed many scopes in the store's newly redone 5th floor astronomy
room. A highlight was the demo of Celestron's SkyScout star finder.
