It just irks me when someone comes into this newsgroup, which has typically been self-policed and self-directed to HELP others getting into this field of interest (robotics), with what seems to be just a desire to stir things up & then you insult the people giving the feedback which *you* solicit. You know, you can harass the dog at the end of the chain all you like, but if you get too close it's not the dog's fault you lose a finger or two.

My advice is simple: if one doesn't know what one is talking about, then don't go shooting one's mouth off! And if you do, well, I say you get what's coming to you.

What ever happened to simply asking a question and listening politely to the
answer?

I completely understand your atitude about people mouthing off about things
they don't know about.

But what gets me about YOUR comments is that YOU talk about being polite, yet YOU take the opportunity to wade into someone, insulting their knowledge, thought processes, whatever. EVERY impolite response you have gotten has in some way been solicitied by your LACK of politeness. You are contradicting yourself, and proving my point. YOU have fired the first unkind or impolite shot, every time.

Everyone mouths off now and then about something they are not really knowledgeable about. Myself included. Did you make any effort at all to explain (politely) to the "old fart" about why the sign over rock claimed it was 3 million years old? You are well on your way to becoming a younger version of that old fart. Practice a little "growing up" and maybe you will become a welcome addition to those around you, instead of self-professed know-it-all.

Enough of that. Got other more important things to do.
