Wow. You really are some sort of expert! Let's just say that I do not agree with the majority of your assumptions, your comparisons to other projects are way off the mark, and thus so are your conclusions.

I note that you are attempting to make a personal attack here rather than
dealing with the substantive technical issues.

If that's a personal attack we must not be on usenet. Actually, in any area of communication it would be considered "irony" with a heavy dose of sarcasm. As with my earlier comments on this thread, it may not be kind but it was hardly a personal attack. If you want an example of a personal attack see the comment by "pogo" earlier in this thread.

Guilty. Very much so. And like many times when I do that, I over-reacted to an inflammatory post.Your posts just happened to trigger my response, which I admit was not very proportional on my part.

People really ought to get this whole personal attack thing straight, particularly when using it as an excuse to launch a very personal attack of their own.

And these would be the triggers:

Nothing like netwits sounding off on things they don't really know anything
about.

A hell of a lot more difficult than putting your foot
in your mouth on usenet, apparently.

It just irks me when someone comes into this newsgroup, which has typically been self-policed and self-directed to HELP others getting into this field of interest (robotics), with what seems to be just a desire to stir things up & then you insult the people giving the feedback which *you* solicit. You know, you can harass the dog at the end of the chain all you like, but if you get too close it's not the dog's fault you lose a finger or two.

Just my 2.1 cents worth, or less.
