While what Stephen wrote is a little ambiguous, I'm pretty sure the
polar axis he was referring to was the RA axis and not the azimuth axis.
The only error in his comment was the statement that this axis extends
from the azimuth pivot.

Your own comment is at least as ambiguous <g>.
