HI Dennis:

I assume by "R. China" you mean "Red China," AKA "The People's Republic
of China." Skywatcher scopes are made by Synta. The Taiwanese firm. As
we discussed some time back. ;-)

The Orion Short Tube 80 is also made by Synta.
