LET'S GO BACK TO THE FIRST LINE.
"The land around the North Sea is sinking."
Inger usually calls it the "Western Sea."
(1) If the land around the North Sea were sinking,
the Dutch lowlands would be inundated.
(2) Readers Alaca and Bagula are unaware that
Inger has a history of saying outrageous things
simply to engage young men in a chat. Oops! Sorry,
"serious discussion" about Nordic artifacts in
North America, archaeology, geology, the impact
of the Danes on Anglo Saxon culture, the Swedish
origins of the Goths, et cet.
(3) The longer you pattur with the Duchess of
Gothenburg, the deeper you will find yourself
in her walpurgis nacht netherworld, dependant on
what sauces she has poured on her catch of the day.

Cheers, David H
