BTW, other "mosaic" animals are also (always??) waterside, eg, mink "broad 
niche" "generalised" = mosaic carnivore: swims, dives, burrows... hunts 
rabbits, burrowing rodents, crayfish, fish, crabs, muskrats, burds...
