I keep pet ferrets and have done for a number of years. All of mine are
affectionate pets. All of mine are ferocious hunters. They will battle and
kill a large female rat defending a nest of babies, then climb my leg for a
treat and cuddles.
Saying that pet tame ferrets won't hunt, is a bit like saying your average
affectionate lazy moggy won't hunt.
