I'm really interested in implement this proposal:
*Extension of the GTK+ frontends
There are a couple of GTK+ frontends for Samba4 (see SambaGtk). These are
very limited at the moment but you could work on expanding them and further
integrating them with GNOME. Language: C or Python
* Difficulty: Easy
* Language(s): Python, perhaps C
* Possible mentors: JelmerVernooij*
But, I'll be more happy if this interface could be implemented using EFL and
no GTK+.
Why?
EFL has less deps than GTK or QT and the graphic result is better (both in
efficience and beauty).
I'd rather see a continuation of the existing work using a commonly used
library rather than starting a new project using a completely different
UI toolkit. There is quite a bit of existing work which I'd rather not
throw out.
Cheers,
Jelmer
