Advanced Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Rhetoric and Composition

We seek an advanced scholar-teacher in rhetoric and composition who has compiled an established record of scholarship preferably in more than one of the following areas: community or environmental sustainability, composition studies, cross-cultural communication, digital rhetorics, English education, gender and diversity studies, histories and theories of rhetoric, linguistics, literacy studies, new media. professional/technical/scientific communication. Interest and experience in undergraduate and/or graduate program and curriculum development, interdisciplinary work, and strong involvement with graduate students highly desired. The Department of Humanities is broadly interdisciplinary with noted scholars and teachers in composition, communication and cultural studies, creative writing, English and American literatures, linguistics, literacy, modern languages and literatures, new media, philosophy, professional, technical, and scientific communication, and rhetoric. We have undergraduate degrees in communication and culture, English education, liberal arts, and scientific and technical communication. We also have a large, nationally renowned graduate program in Rhetoric and Technical Communication. Ph.D. required. Assistant Professor of Emergent Media

The Humanities Department of Michigan Technological University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor who can teach and conduct scholarly work in media production and design with a critical and interdisciplinary emphasis in some set of the following areas (listed alphabetically): advanced web development, cmc, content management, database design and management, information architecture, information visualization, knowledge management, networked communication environments, video and/or videogame development.

Duties and responsibilities include teaching and helping develop courses in our undergraduate and graduate programs, so the ideal candidate is prepared to work across disciplines as a teacher-scholar.  We have undergraduate programs in Scientific and Technical Communication, Communication and Culture Studies, English Education, and Liberal Arts, and a graduate program in Rhetoric and Technical Communication. PhD required.

Assistant Professor of Diverse Literatures

The Department of Humanities at Michigan Technological University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in diverse literatures. The successful candidate will be able to cross traditional pedagogical and scholarly boundaries in English studies, such as British, American, Post Colonial, and environmental literatures. Specific areas of specialization might include American Indian, Latino/a American, African American, Asian American, and GLBT literatures. Secondary areas might include literacy studies, English education, or applied linguistics. Teaching experience, evidence of potential to publish significant scholarly work and Ph.D. required.
