well if it's not a bug in knode,
i just had the properties settings (settings->configure
knode->accounts->trolltech->edit) as follows :
server requires authentication :
supply your mail and password givven by trolltech 
when signed up for the list

then post to trolltech.qt-interest or reply using Followup to Newsgroup 
hope it works for you too
