Well, I'm on this list, and I use XCode as well. I still hope
Trolltech will include XCode support after all in a future beta and
the final qt4 release, but nothing is guaranteed. I definately do not
like the idea of them taking a feature out of the product and
relegating it to the commerical version.

I feel like the Qt4 API is still a moving target and prefer developing
against qt3 a bit longer until qt4 cools down a bit since I can afford
to. Once I move over to qt4, if XCode support still does not exist,
I'll probably end up having to help any who are interested in building
our own qmake variant with XCode support by digging through the qt3
qmake sources. That said, reproducing Trolltech's work on qmake is an
aweful shame/waste of time. I'd rather be developing new functionality
into my free cross platform app.

That's what makes this whole thing so silly. Trolltech would like to
see more stuff become open source (like XCode, possibly Aqua, etc
etc). The qmake+xcode dealie is their way of pressuring Apple to open
up XCode, to further the open/free software movement. But in the end
if they go through with this they'll simply take time away me me and
other open source developers so we can continue to develop with qt (by
creating our own xcode supported qmake) and we'll ultimately have less
time to spend on the free/open source projects we love. Not very
productive eh?
