Technical Architect (J2EE, Web services) Job Description Purpose
As a technical architect, you'll contribute to project success by
providing technical leadership and direction on assigned projects and
ensuring high quality adherence to standards and best practices.

* Developing, recommending and implementing J2EE architecture framework
in alignment with the enterprise technical direction * Developing best
practices for J2EE development * Writing detailed technical design
specifications * Being a key problem solver for performance,
development and production issues * Conducting technical instruction
and mentoring for team members and rollout room staff * Verifying
assumptions made by the application team with regard to enterprise
technical architecture * Evaluating vendor projects and preparing
recommendations based on the impact of hardware or software upgrades on
new and existing applications * Leading team in completion of SEI
documentation and processes * Evaluating and anticipating the impact of
technical solutions on related projects * Translating technical
solutions based on client's needs and feasibility * Understanding
interrelationships and the impact of systems and applications upon the
Target technical environment * Gathering technical specifications from
clients, Enterprise Architecture and understanding requirements to
ensure a high quality solution is produced * Performing problem
analysis, identifying root causes, outlining resolution options and
taking appropriate actions to resolve problems * Developing test causes
and plans to verify successful implementation of system enhancements
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
* 4-year college degree * Five years IT experience in J2EE application
development * Strong Service Oriented Architecture experience * Solid
experience in Web services, EJB, JMS, JSF/JSP, JMX * Strong verbal,
presentation and written communications skills for technical audiences;
able to explain technical solutions to technical teams * Good
interpersonal, problem solving, reasoning and analytical skills * Good
negotiation skills * Strong demonstration of leadership * Understand
the complete software development life cycle
Desired Requirements:
* Datewarehousing and Business Intelligence experience * Technical
certifications * Two years systems and programming experience in
technical areas * Retail business experience
