AMMUNITION & EXPLOSIVE TRANSPORTATION COORDINATOR (MODIFICATION)

The following government organization is responsible for this
competitive process: Department of National Defence
SALARY: $48,344 to $58,817 (EG-04)

WHO CAN APPLY: Persons residing or working in Eastern Ontario or

CHALLENGE: Technical support and operations advice on all aspects of
explosives safety, including the transportation of ammunition and
explosives for the Department of National Defence.
EDUCATION: Secondary School and the successful completion of
ammunition related courses attaining the qualification level (QL) 6 in
any ammunition trade or any acceptable combination of education
training and/or experience.
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
The candidate must hold a transportation of dangerous goods
qualification, in accordance with part 6 of the transportation of
dangerous goods regulations, or the ability to obtain the
qualification within the first year of employment.
EXPERIENCE: Experience in an establishment dealing with ammunition,
pyrotechnics and explosives used by the DND/CF or equivalent.
Experience in using DND/CF publications in the determination,
establishment and promulgation of technical data for ammunition items
in the CF inventory.
Experience in preparing and documenting shipments of class 1,
Dangerous goods items and in the establishment of Canadian standards
and designs for ammunition containerization, palletization and unit
load configurations.
Experience in the transportation of ammunition and explosive by road,
rail, sea and air.
Experience in using and interpreting publications relating to
transportation of dangerous goods, such as the transportation of
dangerous goods regulations, Explosives Act and Regulations, ICAO,
IATA, IMDG, CFR 49 (US) and C-09-153-001/TS-000, Part 6.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS / COMMENTS: MODIFICATION : Please note that
the closing date has been extended. This position was previously
advertised on our Internet site, with a closing date of December 14,
2005.

SCOLARITE REQUISE: Diplome d?etudes secondaires et avoir complete avec

connexes ou detenir un agencement acceptable d?etudes, de formation et
d?experience connexe.
ATTESTATION PROFESSIONNELLE :
La candidate ou le candidat doit detenir la qualification en transport
de matieres dangereuses, selon la partie 6 des reglements sur le
transport de matieres dangereuses, ou etre en mesure de l?obtenir au
cours de la premiere annee de son embauche.
EXPERIENCE REQUISE: Experience dans un etablissement traitant des
munitions, pyrotechniques ou explosifs utilisees par le MDN/FC.
Experience de la consultation de publications du MDN/FC envers la
determination, l?etablissement et la promulgation de donnees
techniques en relation avec l?inventaire de munitions et items divers.
Experience de la preparation et la documentation d?expedition de
marchandise de matieres dangereuses de Classe 1 et dans la mise en
place de standards et de modeles canadiens de contenants, palettes, et
configuration de chargements.
Experience du transport de munitions et explosifs par air, route,
transport ferroviaire et maritime.
Experience de l?utilisation et l?interpretation des publications liees
au transport de matieres dangereuses, telles que la reglementation du
transport de matieres dangereuses, Loi sur les explosifs, ICAO, IATA,
IMDG, CFR 49 (US) et C-09-153-001/TS-000, Part 6.).
