Description:
The application developer will be working on ED PulseCheck, a web-based
application used in Emergency Departments. The developer will be part of
the core programming group and work on maintaining the existing code base.
The developer will be assisting in the creation of Service Packs and be
part of the Sustaining Engineering team. The ideal candidate has strong
troubleshooting and debugging skills to go along with their technical
abilities.
Summary of Responsibilities
? Develops service packs which include defect resolution and product
sustaining development.
? Creates technical documentation relevant to service packs.
? Analyzes specifications and designs efficient software application
solutions.
? Develops software that adheres to Picis software development
standards as well as best practices in development.
? Assists in developing test plans (based on specifications), unit
tests, and tests new and updated software programs to ensure specifications
and standards are met.
? Supports, troubleshoots, and maintains existing software
applications.
Required skills:
Education and Experience Required:
? Minimum of five years of software application programming/analysis
experience in a web-based environment, developing/sustaining high end
applications.
? Experience with Perl programming language in a database environment
is required.
? Bachelor?s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in
Computer Science or similar.
Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
? Experience working with Perl, HTML, XML, SQL, Apache, and other
web-based application development tools. Intermediate Perl experience
required.
? Knowledge of current trends, tools, and techniques in web-based
software application development environments.
? Ability to estimate level of effort for problem resolution.
? Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
? Individual fosters professional growth and shows initiative,
focuses on principles of continuous improvement.
? Individual has a customer service orientation, exhibits
professional behaviors, and contributes to team development and performance
in order to achieve team and organizational goals.
