we also have a very successful website delivering over 250 million page
impressions to over 10 million unique users per month. As a result,
Multimap is one of the top ten most visited web sites in Britain. We are
the number one supplier of Internet mapping to business customers. Our
clients can choose from an extensive portfolio of location-based services,
which are fully customisable to allow complete integration within the
aesthetics of their own web sites. Services can be delivered over a variety
of platforms, including web, wireless, PDA, iTV and kiosk-based devices.
Working with 3G, our partner in Turkey, we have established a development
centre in Istanbul and are looking for enthusiastic Software Engineers to
join our growing team there. This team works closely with colleagues in the
UK and visits to the London office are sometimes required. Therefore,
candidates must have good spoken and written English.
Required skills:
Computer Science or related degree from a top university
Good written and spoken English
Professional software development experience (minimum 2 years)
Good Perl coding ability (especially object oriented Perl)
Familiar with the Perl debugger and CPAN
Familiar with unit testing and test-driven development
Familiar with SQL
Familiar with HTML/DHTML, CSS/CSS2 and Javascript (cross browser)
Familiar with Unix / Linux
No military obligation for male candidates for at least 2 years
Desired skills:
Development of Ajax applications
Exposure to Python and/or Ruby
Apache web server configuration
MySQL database experience (ideally Oracle as well)
Knowledge of Internet protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS)
Source Code Control Systems (knowledge of either CVS, RCS, Subversion or
Perforce)
GIS (Knowledge of coordinate systems, mapping, etc)
A valid passport (previous international travel, especially to the UK)
Non-smoker
