Description:
We are looking for a senior level Application Engineer to hit the ground
running and assist with the development of object oriented, n-tier web
applications. We would prefer a bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, and
2-3 years of practical experience building web applications using Perl,
SQL, XSLT, XML, and versioning systems (CVS, Subversion). The ideal
candidate should be well versed in OO methodologies and familiar with the
full software development life cycle (analysis, design, coding, testing,
debugging, and documentation).
The ideal candidate will be expected to design and write reliable,
maintainable code, while being able to adapt quickly to new technologies
and changing business requirements. Individual should also be able to
quickly troubleshoot problems that may arise in the code base.
The candidate will work closely with the Lead Application Engineer, and
under the direction of the Development Manager.
Required skills:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
· Experience in object-oriented programming with Perl
· Experience in developing and implementing the integration layer and
business logic of object oriented systems.
· Experience integrating GUI elements with back-end database systems and
logic.
· Ability to assist development and implementation of server-side processes
that support web environment outputs and applications.
· Provides automation to support web environment outputs and conversions,
translations, deployments, archives, and updates.
· Incorporates functional requirements and specifications as outlined in
the design phase.
· Participates in implementation of new features and components, and
contributes to the products quality infrastructure as required for product
releases.
· Documents all development activities to accommodate future maintenance.
· Follows recommended practices for data protection and backup.
· Available for overtime per project requirements.
· Keeps abreast of the current developments in publishing technologies and
software tools.
· Produces documentation or services in accord with a pre-established
schedule or plan.
