Senior Data Analyst
The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for building online reports and
reporting tools and automation, maintaining supporting data and data base
structures as well as suggesting data solutions to business questions.
They must have an eye for the "look" of how data is presented. This person
must be strategic as well as tactical and develop key analytical studies
and consistently see projects completed. The ideal candidate would combine
experience with large datasets, application programming tools (Perl),
programming with API, and business understanding to mine data and automate
workflows focused on identifying relevant indicators in our data. This
position requires strong project management, organizational and
communication skills.
Responsibilities:
? Data mining for advanced analysis of data; presented in reports and/or
interactive tools
? Statistical analysis and modeling and Report writing
? Perform Data validation and massaging to ensure accuracy and quality of
data
? Full life cycle project ownership of reporting solutions and strategies
from analysis to development to delivery and beyond
? Collaborate with business process owners to identify opportunities;
recognize inefficiencies; define business requirements, and design and
implement solutions designed to maximize efficiency and productivity
Required skills:
Requirements:
? Bachelors Degree (Business, Statistics, or Math Preferred)
? 5 years experience with SQL, MySQL and relational databases
? 3 years of relevant work experience in database reporting, analysis and
modeling
? Perl/DBI and API experience, web-based applications preferred
? Advanced SQL, MySql skills (DBD Experience also helpful)
? Excellent analytical skills combined with a creative and strategic
mindset
? Ability to easily communicate complex analytical details
? Proficiency with large volume datasets (100 million+ row tables)
? Experience with automated internet data gathering (screen scraping) is a
plus
? Experience with ETL tools, data warehouse or data conversion processes a
plus
