Description:
My week-old, single person company focuses on systems integration for Hedge
Funds (I was leading Development for another fund until recently). We
focus on Risk, Trading, and Accounting systems. This work is mostly
xml/text/excel file parsing / transformation. perl is the Right way to do
this, as long as it's done simply, consistently, and maintainably. I am an
excellent perl coder and I know finance and financial workflows very well -
I am looking to take on a subcontracting partner, not necessarily fully up
to date on the finance side, but a fast, thorough, and accurate perl
developer. The fund is a top firm and this is a great opportunity.
Required skills:
perl! -mostly activeperl, this will be windows based
DBI (SQL Server)
XML::DOM
presentable to management, good communication skills
Self-Driven QA - total quality control on delivered product
positive attitude
Desired skills:
SpreadSheet::ParseExcel
CGI
Template-Toolkit for HTML reporting
Risk, Accounting or Trading System experience
C# / .NET or Java (for API work)
