About the position:
Joining one of the forefront innovative development teams in Yahoo, we are
developing new capabilities in the area of advertising. The position
will include the definition and the development of software module for
automation of the real time data processes needed for analysis and
forecasting of traffic and advertising. The jobs will allow you to
demonstrate your abilities and knowledge in configuring database system,
and developing the software that allow data to be moved in and out in
real time.
Responsibilities include:
* Define and develop software needed for manipulating and joining data
feeds.
* Working with our local research team and develop algorithms for
statistical learning models.
* Integrate with and use one of the largest data warehouse operations in
the world
* Production support: troubleshoot, report, and prioritize bugs on
operational issues with the production data pipeline
* Work with development team to help them create highly reliable data
applications
* Manage and maintain data mart
* Develop data manipulation and data cleansing script in Perl, Python
* Define database table layout, and define operational procedures for
handover to operational support team.

Required skills:
Minimum Job Qualifications:
* Create tools and programs to automate tasks
* Excellent problem solving, multi-tasking and communication skills
* Very strong sense of responsibility and commitment. Fast learner with
the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
* Prior experience with development in C++, Perl, Shell Scripts and SQL
* Experience with building system and application level monitoring tools
for large deployment are highly preferable.
* Detailed knowledge of the Linux operating system is required. Prior
experience with FreeBSD is a plus.
* Familiarity with change management processes.

* Degree work in Math.
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science
