All I have at this point are bookmarks and mail. However, with the
current version I have (9.25), I don't see an option (unless I am
overlooking it) to export all mail at once. I see an option when I
right click on a View ("filter"?) in the mail pane. Does that export
everything in that view? It appears that it does into one big file,

Yes, that exports everything that is visible, in that view. Make sure you
have show all accounts/forever/read, etc. Export the Received and Sent
seperately.

At present I have only one account and am using things in a simple
manner. I only keep things (so far as I can tell) in the views under
"Filters" in the left-hand pane. (As I have mentioned, I am not a
sophisticated user and so far have used only the simplest functions
in Opera. For instance, I have never used the Import and Export
functions and rarely keep messages parked in Received and Sent.)

but if I import that, is Opera able to restructure things back into
order? I don't have too many views at present, so that would be
manageable.

I don't think 9.25 had the option of importing sent messages, into the
sent filter, so I expect you'd have to use a newer version. If you do
want to stick with 9.25, just copying the entire mail directory, and
all of it's subdirectories should work.

I am not wedded to 9.25 as such. It's just that I don't want to try to
migrate to a new computer (from 98 to XP as it is) and upgrade versions
at the same time.

                                         Just check Help/About Opera to
find the Mail directory path on both computers, to ensure you're copying
from/to the right locations.

That is what another respondent also suggested. One additional
question occurs to me. Somewhere inside, Opera keeps track of email I
have already downloaded (from a POP server, if that makes any
difference). Is there something I also need to copy over to keep things
is synch for that?

Thanks for replying.
