I really liked it. Why is it gone?
It is not..
Your reply is not particularly helpful.
"Active threads" is no longer visible on my installation of 9.51
either. Now I don't particularly want to see it but it would be
helpful if you could explain how to make it visible for those who do.
Mervyn.
9.51 on OsX 10.5.4
It is where it always was, I did nothing special but a clean install.
It seems Opera is extremely inconsistent in its latest flavors.
They claim to have fixed the threaded view option in the News client,
but in my install it does not work..
I can not get Cocoa Aspell to work with Opera either.

9.51 here, Build 10081 on WinXP, and I can see Unread, All Messages,
Filters, Active Contacts, Active Threads, Labels, Attachments, Feeds,
followed by newsgroup servers.
So, it's there, at least in some cases :-).

Well, I've the same /categories/ as well, just no content for any of my
threads beyond 9.27
