M2 keeps refetching last 250 messages

This problem has appeared with news.opera.com account but only with 2  
groups (with a total of 5 subscribed in news.opera.com).
When updating Opera kept showing "1 of 250" :.. the first time it  
downloaded all of 250, next times only 5-10 old ones.

Right click on news.opera.com -> newsgroups:  it didn't showed all groups  
of news.opera.com, but only those which were working for me (so only 3  
groups, none else)  [in fact news.opera.com.newsrc  contained only my  
working groups too]

I've unsubscribed the not-working groups, closed Opera, edited the file
incoming#.txt
changing
last_updated=1

and newsgroup started working again.

It's second time it happens to me: is there anybody out there who has had  
the same problem and knows what could trigger this?
